RE: Funny story about electricity

How do you like the 35QBA? We were looking at one (on-line, not visually), but it was sold before we could get very far. Ended up with the 32BA instead. The bunks sure would have been nice for the grandson, but I like the 32BA size.

RE: No subpanel inverter installation on a 50 amp motor home?

Thanks for all the comments. FWIW, the two AC units draw 20 amps running at the same time.
I've pretty much abandoned this approach, not for technical reasons, but because of the cost of buying the inverter. I think I'll stick with my 400 watt inverter switched at the two CBs for the outlets.

RE: No subpanel inverter installation on a 50 amp motor home?

At this point, I simply brain- storming. I may just install the 400 watt sine wave inverter that I have and only power the two outlet circuits with it through a 50 amp (overkill) transfer relay. The 50 amp transer relay would allow me to switch the two outlet circuits after the CBs, one though each leg of the transfer relay. I'm not a big believer in high power inverters unless you have a mega battery system. Since my MH has an Onan 6000 watt quiet diesel generator, I can use it for the high power stuff with no problems. Thanks for the feedback.

No subpanel inverter installation on a 50 amp motor home?

I've recently purchased a motor home with 50 amp electrical system and am considering my options for an inverter installation. I'm thinking that a Prosine 2000 inverter/charger could be installed in-line on one of the 50 amp input legs without the need for a subpanel. The Prosine 2000 has a 30 amp change-over relay internal to the unit. If I wire the CB panel so that the converter and both AC units are on the non-inverter leg, and the MW and outlets are on the inverter fed leg, that this might be a pretty simple installation. The only additional need might be to put a 30 amp CB on the output side of the inverter, assuming it does not already have one.
What are your thoughts?

RE: 09 Honda Fit

RoadMaster has a request on their website for anyone with a 2009 Fit. They will supply all or part of the tow bar package for free if they can use your car to do the desgin.
The Honda website has been updated today to show the 2009 Fit as available. I was going to get one, but decided on a CRV last weekend.

My connections have been pretty reliable today. They changed something that should help Verizon and Quest customers (I'm on Quest).

RE: Honda towing

chili's trip, have you found information about towing the 2009 Fit automatic yet. I also would like to order this new fit but would like to know if it is 4 down towable.
Don
Confirmed - the 2009 Honda Fit auto is towable 4 down. I have one on order (dealer called today to let me know it had arrived) and downloaded the instr manual from the Honda Site. Says the same thing as the 08-towable 4 down if procedure is followed every 8 hours and speed does not exceed 65 mph. Now I have to wait for a base plate to be designed by Blue Ox. Good luck!
Do you have a link to the manual. I'd love to get a copy of it. Thinking about a 2009 fit also.

Financing a Class A

I'm considering a Winnebago 34M Class A. Sale prices is $90,000. What kind of financing rate can I expect with 10% or 20% down? How many years? I'd like to stay with a loan of about 10 years and would like to see 7% or better (for me, not the bank).

RE: Isn't it odd that Grainger advertizes here?

I'm pretty sure that most of the ads here are contracted with Google. Google has a contract with the forum. I don't think that the advertisers actually select where their ads are placed. Google uses forum content to select ads that might appeal to the viewers.

RE: Efficient Small Inverter?

Are you sure the problem is not simply the power required by the load and not the inverter efficiency? A more efficient inverter may not help all that much.
